Wallet & Ownership

Wallet & Ownership

Openverse runs on Solana — but in a way that’s refreshingly simple for players. Here’s exactly what that means.

Your wallet is your character

There’s no email and no password. Your Solana wallet is your account and your identity:

  • The first time you connect a wallet, an account is created automatically and tied to it.
  • Reconnect that same wallet from any device, any time, and everything you owned is still there.
  • Your default name is Player_ + a slice of your wallet address — you can set a display name later.

How sign-in works

When you click Connect Wallet:

  1. Pick your wallet (e.g. Phantom, Solflare).
  2. You’re asked to sign a message: “Sign in to Openverse…”.
  3. You sign it in your wallet, and you’re in.

This signature is free. It is not a transaction — it costs no SOL and moves no funds. It only proves you control the wallet. Openverse will never ask you to approve a transaction just to log in or play.

What you own

Your account permanently holds everything you’ve earned and made:

  • Your inventory — items, tools, wearables, and Bling.
  • Your builds and structures, and any groups you’ve captured.
  • Your land claims (protected by your robots).
  • Your profile, photos, follows, and team membership.

It all persists with your wallet across sessions — log off, come back next month, and your world is exactly as you left it.

Free to play

Openverse is free to play. Connect a wallet and jump in — no purchase required to start mining, building, and exploring.

Staying safe

  • Openverse only ever asks you to sign a login message — never to approve a transfer or transaction to play.
  • Be wary of anyone DMing you “official” links. The real game is openverse.club.
  • Verify community links through the official channels: X / Twitter and Telegram.
