Frequently Asked Questions
Is Openverse free?
Yes. Connect a Solana wallet and play for free — no purchase required to start.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Openverse runs entirely in your browser. Just open openverse.club.
What do I need to play?
A desktop computer with a modern browser (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge), a keyboard and mouse, and a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare.
Does signing in cost SOL?
No. Logging in only requires signing a message, which is free and is not a transaction. Openverse never asks you to approve a transfer just to play. See Wallet & Ownership.
Can I play on mobile?
The game is built for desktop (keyboard + mouse required). You can browse the site on mobile, but you’ll want a computer to actually play.
Is there a token?
This handbook documents gameplay. For anything about tokens, announcements, or the project roadmap, follow the official channels: X / Twitter and Telegram. Don’t trust links from anyone else.
Will I lose my stuff if I log off?
No. The world is persistent and tied to your wallet. Your inventory, builds, and land are saved. Just keep your land-claim robots powered with Bling so your claim doesn’t lapse.
What happens when I die?
You respawn at home with full health, but you drop 1/10 of your Bling and lose active buffs. See Combat & Survival.
How do I stop people from breaking my builds?
Place a robot to project a protection field over your land, and keep it fed with Bling. See Land & Protection.
How do I get new recipes?
Recipes unlock as you progress — mostly by completing quests and reaching milestones. Open crafting with R to see your recipe book.
What’s “the Muck”?
A spreading, hazardous substance that corrupts the land and spawns hostile creatures. It’s dangerous but rewarding to explore — and you can clear it with an unmucker. See The World.
Is Openverse open source?
Yes — Openverse is a community fork of the open-source Biomes voxel engine.
