Getting Started

You can be in the world in under a minute. Here’s the whole flow.

1. Open the game

Go to openverse.club in any modern desktop browser (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge). There’s nothing to download — the game streams and runs in your tab.

When you land, you’re already looking at the live world in observer mode: the camera drifts between real, player-built landmarks like The Grove and Brickleberry Farms. This is the actual world you’re about to join.

Tip: Openverse is built for desktop. A keyboard and mouse are required to play — mobile is for browsing only.

2. Connect your wallet

Click Connect Wallet (top right). Openverse uses your Solana wallet as your character and your login — there’s no email or password.

  1. Pick your wallet (e.g. Phantom or Solflare).
  2. Approve the connection.
  3. Sign the “Sign in to Openverse” message. This is a free signature — it is not a transaction and costs no SOL. It only proves you own the wallet.

That’s it — your account is created automatically the first time you connect, and it’s permanently tied to your wallet. Come back anytime, reconnect, and everything you owned is still there.

Your default name is Player_ followed by a few characters of your wallet address. You can change your display name later.

3. Spawn into the world

After signing, you drop into the shared world at a spawn point with full health and a starter hotbar. You’ll see:

  • A hotbar at the bottom (slots 1–9, plus 0).
  • A health bar.
  • A minimap in the corner.
  • A crosshair in the center.

4. Your first five minutes

A good first session, in order:

  1. Move around. W A S D to walk, Space to jump, hold Shift to sprint. Mouse to look.
  2. Mine something. Aim at a tree or rock and hold left-click to break it. Drops fly into your inventory.
  3. Open your inventory with E to see what you’ve gathered.
  4. Place a block. Select a block in your hotbar (19) and right-click to place it.
  5. Open the map with M to get your bearings, and follow a quest marker if you see one.

5. Make it yours

Once you’ve found a spot you like:

  • Build something — see Mining & Building.
  • Protect it by placing a robot, which projects a shield so other players can’t break your stuff — see Land & Protection.
  • Set up a farm, a kitchen, or a fishing spot and settle in.
