Combat & Survival

Combat & Survival

The world isn’t all peaceful gardening. The Muck spawns creatures, and staying alive means knowing how health, damage, and respawning work.

Your health

  • You spawn with 100 HP (max 100).
  • Take too much damage and you die — then respawn (see below).
  • Eat food to heal — consumables restore HP and can grant combat buffs (see Inventory & Items).

Fighting creatures

Equip a weapon or tool and left-click to attack the creature you’re facing. Your strikes land in a cone in front of you.

  • Your attack rate is fast (about 4 swings/second).
  • A typical weapon deals around 10 damage per hit (a baseline of ~40 DPS), modified by the tool — better weapons hit harder, and the right tool type gets an affinity bonus just like mining.
  • Hits apply knockback, shoving enemies back and up.

The creatures (mucklings)

The Muck is home to hostile creatures — the mucklings and their larger mucker cousins (you’ll meet variants like Mossy, Cobbled, and Sappy types). Their behavior:

  • Aggro range: they notice and chase you from about 16 blocks away.
  • Attacks: roughly 10 damage every 2 seconds in melee range (about 1.8 blocks).
  • Disengage: outrun them past ~16 blocks and they give up.
  • Some creatures only turn hostile if you hit them first.

Not every creature is hostile — quest-giver and decorative NPCs won’t attack and can’t be harmed.

Environmental dangers

Drowning

Stay underwater too long and you’ll start to drown:

  • Damage begins after about 10 seconds submerged.
  • Then you take roughly 30% of your max HP every 2 seconds — so surface quickly. Come up for air with Space.

Falling & crushing

  • Fall damage scales with how far you drop — mind the cliffs.
  • Blocks can crush you if they fall on you.

Death & respawn

When your HP hits 0:

  • You respawn at your home/spawn point with full health.
  • As a penalty, you drop 1/10 of your Bling.
  • All your active buffs are cleared.

So death isn’t the end — but it has a cost. Carry food, watch your footing near the Muck, and don’t wander in over your head with a full Bling wallet.

Safe zones & peace

Certain areas are designated safe zones where creatures won’t aggro you, and a peace buff can shield you from attacks. Build your base somewhere safe (and protect it with a robot) for a stress-free home.
